Felix Yongbok Lee ( Korean: 이필릭스용복; born 15 September 2000), known mononymously as Felix, is an Australian rapper and singer based in South Korea. He is a member of the South Korean boy band Stray Kids, formed by JYP Entertainment in 2017. [1]
Felix Yongbok Lee was born on 15 September 2000 in Seven Hills, Sydney, Australia to Korean immigrant parents. [2] He is the middle child between his younger sister and older sister. [3] Before moving to Seoul, South Korea to become a singer, Lee practiced taekwondo for twelve years as a child and has won a total of 63 medals. [4] He studied at St Patrick's Marist College in Sydney and began his training at JYP Entertainment at age 16. [5]
Lee began as a trainee at JYP Entertainment in February 2017. He was personally chosen by Stray Kids' leader, Bang Chan, making him the sixth member of the band to be selected. [6] Lee continued to train with Stray Kids until the broadcast of the survival show, also titled Stray Kids. [7] During this show, he faced elimination in the eighth episode, decided by Park Jin-young, the founder of JYP Entertainment. However, following careful consideration and a fan vote, Lee was reinstated in the group in the following episode. [6] Stray Kids then released their pre-debut EP Mixtape, before making their official debut with the EP I Am Not on 25 March 2018. [8]
Individually, he was the host of the music program Pops in Seoul from July 2019 to January 2020. [9] In June 2022, Lee featured on his labelmate Nayeon's "No Problem" from her debut EP Im Nayeon. [10] His first solo song "Deep End" was included on Stray Kids' compilation album SKZ-Replay in December 2022, and during the group's 5-Star Dome Tour in 2023, he first performed his unreleased song "Rev It Up". [11] [12] Lee made a cameo appearance in the music video for his labelmate NiziU's South Korean debut single "Heartris" in October 2023. [13]
Felix Lee was chosen as the house ambassador for Louis Vuitton in August 2023. [14] In November 2023, he was named one of GQ Korea's Men of the Year and featured on the cover of the magazine's December issue. [15] [16] Lee made his runway debut at Paris Fashion Week for Louis Vuitton Women's Fall-Winter 2024 Collection at Cour Carrée on 5 March 2024. [17] In May 2024, he made his Met Gala debut with Stray Kids as the guest of Tommy Hilfiger, [18] and attended Louis Vuitton cruise show 2025 in Barcelona. [19] [20]
In 2020, Lee began consistent donations and sponsorship for the international children's rights organization Save the Children. His contributions have made him a member of the charity's honors club. [21] He also donated ₩50 million (US$38,500 as of 2023) for the relief effort following the 2023 Turkey–Syria earthquakes. [22] In January 2024, Lee donated ₩100M (US$76,100 as of 2024) to the Korean Committee for UNICEF to help Laotian children living with poor sanitation and nutrition, making him the youngest member of the UNICEF Honors Club. [23]
In February 2022, Lee was diagnosed with intervertebral disk herniation, which has limited his participation in performances before. [24]
