Epocilla is a genus of jumping spiders that was first described by Tamerlan Thorell in 1887. [3] The name comes from Ἐπόκιλλος (Epocillus), a soldier of Alexander the Great.[ citation needed]
As of June 2019 [update] it contains twelve species, found in Asia, Mauritius, on the Seychelles, and Hawaii: [1]
