Powell grew up in Pittsboro, North Carolina and attends Northwood High School. [1] He averaged 18.6 points, seven rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game as a junior. [2] Powell was selected to play in the 2024 McDonald's All-American Boys Game during his senior year. [3]
Powell is considered a five-star recruit by most major recruiting services and is one of the top players in the 2024 class.
