Contested deletion

This page should not be speedily deleted because I published the draft (which was the originally deleted) by accident. I deleted it so I could make a mainspace article instead and just copied and pasted from the draft. I put the draft up for speedy deletion. This should be kept up as the main article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Parzival2101 ( talkcontribs) 22:03, 11 April 2023 (UTC) reply

Contested deletion

I might have misunderstood the deletion reason. If its because of lack of significance I disagree. If Henry Zebrowski is able to have a Wikipedia page despite primarily being a podcast host with some supporting or cameo roles in movie and television, then Ben Kissel, who is a politician, comedian and podcast host who also has cameo roles in television should be allowed as well. Ben Kissel is notable in being a relatively young politician at the time of his campaign and as being the founding co-host of one of the most popular podcasts in its genre, easily receiving millions of listeners a year. I think his time as a politician makes him notable enough to have him as a separate article from just the podcast page. It could also be argued that he is a New York Times Bestselling author for his part in writing The Last Book on the Left. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Parzival2101 ( talkcontribs) 22:13, 11 April 2023 (UTC) reply

What’s going on with the page history?

The people editing this page are using a lot of words and terms I do not understand at all. Is there an issue with the page? If so, can someone explain it to me in Wikipedia Newbie terms? Parzival2101 ( talk) 21:43, 12 April 2023 (UTC) reply

Hi Parzival2101! Welcome to the project! Re: the page history, in a nutshell: An article on this subject had previously existed, in 2018, but at the time the subject was not deemed notable enough for an article (see the archived discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ben Kissel).
As a result, when you created a new article under the same subject, someone (in this case User:Mccapra) monitoring the stream of new articles noticed the history associated with the article title. Because we get so many new articles, every minute of every day, there are mechanisms in place to help cut through some of the poorer quality articles: See Wikipedia:Candidates for speedy deletion.
It's a tricky thing to gauge, but in this instance Mccapra believed that your version of the article was close enough to the 2018 version of the article, which was previously deleted via due process, that it qualified for speedy deletion under CSD:G4. However, I deemed this not to be the case. The current wording of G4 is a bit too narrow, so being similar is not enough to warrant summary deletion. That, and the fact that nearly half a decade has passed, means that your article deserves to stand on its own merits. That said, as I noted in my edit summary, this article could still be subject to another vote at AFD ( Wikipedia:Articles for deletion) should anyone, including Mccapra, still feel that notability is lacking. -- Hadal ( talk) 15:10, 13 April 2023 (UTC) reply
Ok thank you, I understand now. Is there any way I can see the deleted version of the article? I tried to find it but I'm guessing its just completely gone? I just want to compare what they did to mine to see if I can improve it. Parzival2101 ( talk) 11:48, 14 April 2023 (UTC) reply
