W tyle wizji, is a Polish journalistic and satirical program broadcast from 2016 to 2023 on TVP Info. [1] [2]
The first episode was aired on April 1, 2016, at that time still without the extra part of W tyle wizji extra. The program was hosted by Wiktor Swietlik and Waldemar Oginski, and started and ended with Marcin Wolski.
After the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, and the airing of a special edition on the TVP Info station, the program's broadcast was suspended [3]. The last full edition of the program was broadcast on February 24 [4], and it resumed broadcasting on March 12, 2022 [5]. The edition was hosted by Stanislaw Janecki and Krzysztof Feusette.
In December 2023, it was reported that the program's broadcast was terminated. The program had two parts for most of its broadcast time, the main part (35-39 min.) and an additional part with its own title W tyle wizji extra (15-29 min.). The last edition of the program was broadcast on December 19, 2023.
Some of the journalists associated with the program, including Dorota Losiewicz, Stanislaw Janecki and Krzysztof Feusette, became hosts of the publicist magazine Polityka na desser in January 2024, broadcast Monday through Friday from 8:30 pm on the wPolsce.pl station. The program is based on the same formula as the now-defunct W tyle wizji. However, it does not feature calls from listeners and lasts longer than its original. Each episode lasts almost 1 hour and 30 minutes [6] [7].
The program was a summary of the most important events of the day (mainly political) from Poland and the world. It had a humorous character, in which the hosts - journalists and satirists - talked to each other in the studio, watched material prepared by reporters, listened to calls from viewers and read Twitter posts. The head of the program and one of the presenters was Marcin Wolski, who always briefly commented on the most important event at the beginning of the edition (in the revised formula, the introductory commentary was made by one of the presenters), and read his own satirical poem at the end. As of October 3, 2016, After the end of the program, W tyle wizji extra was broadcast, in which a single topic was discussed. In this part, viewers' comments could last a little longer.
