Veonity is a Swedish power metal band formed in 2013 in the city of Vänersborg. The same year they self-published the EP Live Forever and two years later their debut album Gladiator's Tale. [1] Guest Marcus Brander de Silva took part in this album as the main singer, Tommy Johansson also sang a part of one song. [2] On the following album Into The Void released in 2016, the band elaborated a concept story from the future [3] and Anders Sköld, who also plays guitar in the band, took over the vocals. The album Sorrows sets a slighter darker and heavier tone than the bands previous records. [4]
Veonity draw inspiration from the sound of the Swedish and German music scene from the late nineties. At the same time, they also do not use any symphonic sounds in their compositions, as is usual for Power Metal. [5].
After the release of Legend Of The Starborn Veonity toured all across Europe with bands such as Powerwolf and Freedom Call and shared the stage with Sabaton, Dragonforce and Sonata Arctica toname a few. [6] They also took part at various festivals, including Sweden Rock Festival. [7]
