This is a list of Venezuela's representatives and their placements at the Big Four international beauty pageants. [1] Venezuela, widely considered a beauty pageant powerhouse with an extensive and successful history in beauty pageants, is also referred as one of the most successful countries in beauty pageants, [2] [3] [4] [5] has won in all four pageants multiple times, with a total of 136 placements and 24 victories, counting:
Hundreds of beauty pageants are conducted yearly, but the Big Four are considered the most prestigious, widely covered and broadcast by media. [7] [8] Various news agencies collectively refer to the four major pageants as "Big Four" namely: Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International and Miss Earth. [9] [10]

The criteria for the Big Four inclusion are based on specific standards such as the pageant's international prominence and prestige accepted by mainstream media; the quality and quantity of crowned delegates recognized by international franchisees; the winner's post pageant activities; the pageant's longevity, consistency, and history; the execution of the pageant's specific cause, platform, and advocacy; the overall pre-pageant activities, production quality and global telecast; the enormity of internet traffic; and the extent of popularity across the globe. On May 7, 1905, Manuela Victoria Mujica Antich, representative of Lara state was elected by popular vote as the first Miss Venezuela. Many authors and scholars of Miss Venezuela pageant history consider her as the first Miss Venezuela that existed and the vote as a precursor to the pageant as it is known today. [17]
The following are national pageants which serve as qualifiers for the Big Four pageants.
The Miss Venezuela pageant was officially founded in 1952 by Pan Am together with the businesswoman Gloria Sánchez, for the advertising and tourism purpose of sending a Venezuelan representative to the Miss Universe pageant, in Long Beach, California, United States, which had It was created that same year by the Pacific Mills Company to promote its new bikini brand Catalina's. Miss Venezuela World (in Spanish: Miss Venezuela Mundo) was a contest who holds its first edition in 2000. [21] The owners of the contest were the Cisneros Organization and the Miss Venezuela Organization, whose president was Osmel Sousa. The bearer of the title represented Venezuela in the Miss World. The pageant was formally held until 2015; [22] [23] [24] two years later it is again incorporated into the main pageant, Miss Venezuela. [25]
For 2018, the winner of Miss Venezuela, Isabella Rodríguez, was the one who represented the country in the Miss World 2019 pageant. [26] [27]
In 2020, the current administration of the Miss Venezuela Organization announced that the pageant would be held under the name of Miss Venezuela World. [28] [29]
Miss Earth Venezuela title was first given by Sambil Model Organization in 2005. [30] In 2010, Miss Venezuela Organization acquired the franchise for Miss Earth Venezuela directed by the beauty czar Osmel Sousa.
In 2016, Miss Earth Venezuela pageant is founded by National Directors Julio César Cruz and Miss Earth 2013, Alyz Henrich. [31]
Stephanie de Zorzi was appointed Miss Earth Venezuela 2016 in a small ceremony where she was crowned the second time by Alyz Henrich for the new Miss Earth Venezuela Organization.
With 24 victorious titles, Venezuela has reputedly won more than any other country in the Big Four pageants. [32] [33] Venezuela is also the first and only country to win all the four pageants multiple times. Venezuela has twice won two Big Four crowns in one year, winning Miss Universe 1981 and Miss World 1981 and then Miss Universe 2013 and Miss Earth 2013.
