Terry Óg Enright Jr. (1969 – 11 January 1998) was a Gaelic football player for Gort na Móna GAC and an anti-sectarian activist who was shot and killed by members of the Loyalist Volunteer Force at a nightclub he worked at, in January 1998.

Death

On 11 January 1998 Enright who was worked as a doorman for the Space Nightclub on Talbot Street in Belfast. At around 4.11 pm two members of the Loyalist Volunteer Force, Stephen Warnock an a unidentified man shot Enright twice at the entrance to Space. [1] [2] [3]

The LVF claimed they killed Enright in reprisal for the assassination of Billy Wright in 1997, but it's most likely also because Enright was related to Gerry Adams, through his wife Deidre who is his niece, and possibly because Space was owned by the sister-in-law of David Ervine, Space was owned by Maynard and Margaret Campbell and would declare bankruptcy in April 2002. [4] [5]

Aftermath

Stephen Warnock who was 41, would be shot and killed on 10 September 2002, when he was shot multiple times while driving his three-year-old son to school. [2]

Gort na Móna would name their pitch, Páirc Mhic Ionnrachtaigh (Enright Park) in honor of him. [6] [7]
