Robert Wegenast (* May 6 1930 in Budapest; † November 22 2019) was a Hungarian painter and set designer.
From 1949 to 1954, he was a student at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in the Department of Graphic Design and Stage Art. There, he was taught by Oláh Gusztáv and Miháltz Pál. From 1954 to 1955, he received a scholarship from the Vígszínház "Víg" (Comedy Theater). Between 1955 and 1957, he worked as a set designer at the Gárdonyi Géza Színház Theater in Eger. From 1958 to 1961, he worked as a set designer at the Csiky Gergely Színház in Kaposvár. From 1961 to 1964, he designed sets for the Miskolci Nemzeti Színház (National Theater of Miskolc). From 1964 to 1971, he worked as a set designer at the József Attila Színház Theater. From 1971 to 1990, he was a set designer at the Hungarian Television Magyar Televízió. He retired in 1990. Between 1993 and 1999, he worked as a set designer for the game show Jeux sans frontières.
