Mehdi Bahman ( Persian: مهدی بهمن) is an Iranian storyteller, illustrator and researcher in the field of approximation of religions. [1] [2] [3] He is the author of the story collection "Sarmaye Ostokhan Sooz" [4] and has gilded the Torah, Psalms and Bible. [5] He was arrested during The Mahsa Amini protests on October 11, 2022 and face execution. [6] [7] [8]
Bahman was arrested during The Mahsa Amini protests on October 11, 2022 by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and was transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison. [9] [10] [11] According to Farzad Seifikaran, a journalist and his close friend, Bahman was arrested following a public interview with the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation and was sentenced to death by the Islamic Revolutionary Court on December 24, 2022. [12] [13] [14] In this court session, he was deprived of the right to have an appointed lawyer and was only able to visit his family once during the detention period. [15] [16] [17]
