LOKANATH MISHRA:- Pandit Lokanath Mishra was an executive member of Mukti Mandapa Pandita Sabha of Puri Shri Jagannath Temple Complex from 1972 to 2005. He represented his village “Kashi Jaganath Pur, (which is included as Shola Shasan) in Mukti Mandapa Pandita Sabha. The Mukti Mandapa is the congregation hall of the holy seat of learned Brahmins of Shola Shasan. Shri Lokanath Mishra is an Odiya litterateur, writer, spiritual speaker, association leader of all India level, academician, lawyer, and retired central government group-A officer. Born at Kasi Jaganath Pur Sasan of Puri District on 6th January, 1956 .Shri Mishra has been retired as Assistant Commissioner of Central Excise and Customs. He has authored of several articles on literature, short stories, service matters, taxation issues, and Shri Jagannath culture. He is associated with many literary/social/spiritual organizations. Shri Lokanath Mishra having commenced his journey as an Inspector of Central Excise and Customs (now CGST & Customs) rose to the rank of Indian Revenue Service before his superannuation. Born in the village Kasi Jaganath Pur, he received his early education at the village LP school and at Sasan Damodar Pur M.E. School and finally, he completed his school education at Municipal High School, Puri during the year 1971. He passed the Intermediate Arts examination as a private candidate in 1974. He joined SCS College Puri in 1974 and completed bachelor's degree in 1976. During his student career, he was involved in active politics, wrote different articles on Odiya literature, was a freelance journalist, and was president and general secretary of different social and cultural associations. On 15.12.1977, he joined as an Inspector of central excise and customs. While in service, he joined Rourkela evening Law College during the year 1978 and passed LLB exam during 1981. He passed MA from Utkala University as a private candidate during 1985. He worked as an Inspector of Police in CBI on deputation during 1989 to 1992, deputed from central excise and customs . During the year 1993 to 1998 he was a guest lecturer in Revensha College, Cuttack to teach taxation matters to commerce students. He was promoted to the rank of Superintendent in 1995 and to the rank of Assistant Commissioner in 2014. He finally retired from government service during 2015. After retirement duly enrolling in Bar Council of Odisha, he worked as an advocate. As an advocate, he mostly worked in the field of taxation and service matters. While in service as an Inspector, he was General Secretary of Central Excise Executive Officers Association, Odisha. While he was in service as Superintendent, he was General Secretary Central Excise Gazetted Executive Officers Association of Odisha. He was also all India President of All India Association of Central Excise Gazetted Executive Officers . While he was promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner, he was Secretary General of All India Promotee IRS officers association and convener of JAC of all associations of CBIC(All India). After retirement from 2016 to 2022, he was secretary general of the all India Pensioners Association of CBIC. Since 2022 he is continued as Chief Advisor of the all India Pensioners Association of CBIC and the All India Association of CGHS beneficiaries of CBIC.

Shri Mishra has almost visited all parts of India and many foreign countries like Nepal, USA and UK, etc. The biological father of Shri Lokanath Mishra is the late Pandita Shri Babaji Mishra. Late Pandita Shri Babaji Mishra commenced his journey as a Purahit (priest). He almost every day sat in Mukti Mandapa located inside the Shri Jagannath Temple, complex, Puri. He was also an active member of the Mukti Mandapa Pandita Sabha. Late Pandita Shri Babaji Mishra was born in the village Kasi Jaganath Pur in the year 1917, and he received his early education at the village school of Sasan Basudeba Pur. Village Kasi Jaganath Pur is one of the oldest sasana villages in the Puri district in Odisha. The then king of Odisha Gajapati Ramachandra Deva was a patron of Brahmins and made many developments in this sassan village. This village is one of the Shola Sassan of Mukti Mandapa Pandita Sabha of Shri Jagannath Temple, Puri. The Brahmins of this village were brought from Kasi ( present name Banaras) , hence the name of the village is Kasi Jaganath Pur. This village is situated just 7 km away from district headquarters Puri. The late Pandita Shri Babaji Mishra was born in this village. His father was late Balabhadra Mishra . Late Balabhadra Mishra was the adopted son of late Shri Gopinath Mishra. Late Balabhadra Mishra came from the village Basudeba Pur . The wife of late Shri Balabhadra Mishra was Smt. Geli Debi of Gokul Pur. Late Balabhadra Mishra died too early when late Shri Babaji Mishra was 17 years old. Late Pandita Shri Babaji Mishra was the only son of late Shri Balabhadra Mishra and he was having two sisters namely Ratna Mani and Radha Mani. These sisters married to Late Shri Bhramarbara Dash of Gopinath Pur , Balanga, and Late Shri Madhab Nanda of Harachandi sahi, Puri respectively. Late Shri Madhab Nanda died at the age of 28 years. After the death of late Shri Madhab Nanda, late Smt Radhamani Nanda after selling out her house, came back to the village Kasi Jaganath Pur and started to live in this village duly purchasing a house adjacent to the house of late Shri Babaji Mishra and one acre cultivated land in Kasi Jaganath Pur Mauza. Late Shri Babaji Mishra entered into his marriage with Srimati Satya Bhama Mishra, the daughter of late Shri Laxman Mishra, a native of Dhipa Sahi, Markande Swar Sahi of Puri Town. Late Srimati Parvati Mishra was the wife of the Late Shri Laxman Mishra. Srimati Satya Bhama Mishra was having two brothers namely Late Shri Hari Har Mishra and Late Shri Michhu Mishra. Late Shri Hari Har Mishra was unmarried. Late Shri Michhu Mishra was having two sons and two daughters. Smt Satya Bhama Mishra had a elder sister namely the Late Smt Ratna Mani Mishra who married to Pandita Padma Nabha Mishra of Bira Purusottam Pur. Late Pandita Shri Padma Nabha Mishra had three sons and three daughters. Late Pandita Shri Babaji Mishra had two daughters and three sons ( one son was adopted by late Smt Radhamani Nanda hence late Pandita Shri Babaji mishra had two sons). The elder daughter of the late Pandita Shri Babaji Mishra was late Srimati Manorama Mohapatra who married to late Shri Umeshchandra Mohapatra of Gudia Sahi, Puri and they have four daughters and a son. The names of four daughters are Geeta, Gayatri, Gongotri and Mamata and they married to Sarata, Ashok, Santanu and Swadesh respectively. The name of the son of late Smt Manorama Mohapatra is Debi Prassan Mohapatra . The younger daughter of late Pandita Shri Babaji Mishra is Srimati Nirupama Mishra who married to Shri Prabhakar Mishra of village Patali and they have two sons namely Babuni and Chakuni. The elder son of late Shri Babaji Mishra is Bhimasen Mishra who is a priest and astrologer. He worked in Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation. He has formed marital ties with Smt. BHABANI Mishra of Usuna Barapada. Their only daughter Bharati is married to Shri Sashi Satapathy and their only son Vikrama Sen Mishra is married to Sini of Baripada town. The middle son of late Pandita Shri Babaji Mishra is Shri Lokanath Mishra who is married to Smt Basanti Mishra and they have one son Richy who is married to Amruta and their only daughter Priyanka is married to Shri SAI Vishal Mohapatra. Though Shri Lokanath Mishra was adopted by late Smt Radhamani Nanda, the younger sister of late Pandita Shri Babaji Mishra, however, Shri Lokanath Mishra has donated all the properties of late Smt Radhamani Nanda to Shri Ananta Narayan Mishra, the youngest son of late Shri Babaji Mishra. Shri Ananta Narayan Mishra, the younger son, of late Shri Babaji Mishra is working as a journalist and he married to Smt. Rajani Mishra, they are having only son namely Somu. Late Shri Babaji Misra expired on 14.08.1974 at hdqrs hospital, Puri. Pandita Babaji Mishra was a noble person , he always stood by the truth and justice even against himself . He used to say “to speak the truth and die because it pleases me more than to speak lie and live in this world”. That attribute of truth is what all know about him. We cannot recall a single time he lied to anybody including his spouse and children.The world will be less rich without him, but those who knew him will continue to carry a great treasure with his memory. Haramani Mishra was died too early, when late Shri Gangadhar Mishra was five years old. Late Shri Gangadhar Mishra was the only son of late Shri Shadashiva Mishra having three sisters . Late Shri Gangadhar Mishra entered into his marriage with Srimati Umamani Mishra, the daughter of late Shri Rama Krishna Mishra , a native of the same village, Pratap Purusottam Pur. Late Srimati Gauri Mishra was the wife of Late Shri Rama Krishna Mishra. Srimati Umamani Mishra is having one brother namely Raghu Nath Mishra. The elder son of late Shri Gangadhar Mishra is Basanta Kumar Mishra who is at present working as Senior Vice President in Tech Mahindra, Hyderabad. He has formed marital ties with Smt. Puspita Rath. Their only son Bibhuti is staying in USA along with his wife Arya. Hemanta Kumar Mishra, the younger son, of late Shri Gangadhar Mishra is working in the village college and he married to Smt. Shraddhanjali Mishra, they are having two daughters, elder one Pallavi has married to Raja and they are having a beautiful daughter. The younger daughter of Hemanta , Pratikshaya at present is a student of B. Tech. Shri Lokanath Mishra and Smt Basanti Mishra are having one son and one daughter. Their son Richy Yati after completing his education B. Tech and MBA is working at present in Delotee and is staying in USA along with his wife Rini, daughter Archisha and son Reyansh. Richy Yati formed marital ties on 29.03.2013 with Amruta ( Rini), the daughter of Arunachal Dash and Swarna Lata Dash of Pakedi, Ganjam. Amruta has passed B. Tech .The daughter of Shri Lokanath Mishra , Priyanka Priyadarshini is staying in London along with her husband SAI and daughter Sanvi. Priyanka married on 04.03.2009 to Sai Vishal , the son of Radha Nath Mohapatra and Kalyani Mohapatra of Balabhadra Pur Sasan, Dhenkanal. Priyanka and Sai both have completed B. Tech and MBA.
