Early life and education

Gift Gugu Mona was born in Sabie Hospital, Mpumalanga [5], South Africa. She was raised under Christian tenets. Her paternal Grandfather was a carpenter, a farmer and also Priest. Her paternal grandmother was a Christian Leader at the Mission of Christ [Church]] of Christ in South Africa. Her Father and Mother alike were staunch Christians who taught her philosophy and entrepreneurship, respectively [6].

She obtained a doctorate at the University of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa [7]. She also obtained her Master of Public Health from the University of Newcastle, Australia [8]. She began writing poetry while in senior primary school [9] [10] [11], where she won her first poetry competition before the age of 15. Having being raised by parents who were passionate about philosophy, she learnt to master that art along the way. Her contribution to society is notable through her writings and published books.
