Abrams Lincoln Lewis was a businessman and philanthropist in Florida. He was born in Madison, Florida in 1865. He moved with his family Jacksonville and worked as a water boy in a lumber mill. He rose to the position of foreman and acquired a stake in a shoe store. He was a co-founder of the Afro-American Life Insurance Company. Wilberforce University awarded him an honorary degree in 1936. [1]
