Woodrow Wilson Skirvin was an American inventor, industrialist, aviator and Indiana businessman in the mid-20th century. He was born on September 19, 1916, to a family of 10.

Woodrow Wilson Skirvin was born on September 19, 1916, to the family of. He lived with his family on tobacco farms in Kentucky and Indiana. Consequently, Skirvin learned to work in fields. As a child in the 1920s, Skirvin's curiosity got the best of him, including a dynamite explosion and a near-deafening joy ride.[ citation needed]

Inventions

In 1947, aircraft parts engineered by Skirvin & Company were used on the United States Air Force Lockheed P-80 Shooting Star & the Navy Doctorate-558 Douglas Skystreak.[ citation needed]

In 1953, Skirvin produced the Cycle-Scoot, designed and manufactured in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States of America. [1]
