Volanta is a free flight tracker for flight-simulation, created by Orbx. [2] [1] [3] [4] It is a tracking software intended for flight-simulation similar to real life ADS-B services such as FlightRadar24 and FlightAware. [3] [1] [2] [4] It supports a wide variety of flight simulators such as Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, and Prepar3d. [5] It was officially released on January 30th, 2021. [2] [1]
Volanta can track real time data from your flight sim such as altitude, ground speed, destination, origin, time until arrival, remaining distance, weather, and more. [3] You can add an aircraft profile to track the individual stats of that aircraft. The app has the ability to connect to a wide set of other services such as Navigraph and SimBrief, which are flight planning services intended for flight simulators. It also includes a real time overlay for streamers to display data on platforms such as Twitch. [6]
A large part of the tracker is the ability to see and be seen by other Volanta users. Users can upload screenshots from in game to their current flight, allowing others to view them. For any user on the map you can view their flown flight path and all other assorted information related to their flight.
With connections for VATSIM, IVAO, and PilotEdge, you can see players and controllers currently on the network through Volanta. This includes all of the controlling sections such as Center, Approach, and Tower controllers.
