Namatovu Milly (born 17 April 1997) known professionally as Vivian Mimi is a Ugandan singer / songwriter and music producer. She is signed under Pawaz Entertainment record label.

Background and education

Vivian was born from Masaka District on the 17th April 1997, [1] She attended Kitemi primary school in Bukomansimbi for her elementary school education. She later joined St. George senior secondary school in Makukulu, she later joined Focus high school in Jinja where she completed her O-Level certificate of education. She did not proceed to the A-Level education due to financial issues and later started her music career till date. [2]

Career

During her O-Level vacation, she started professional singing and she was always inspired by the top female artists like Juliana Kanyomozi, Irene Namubiru and Irene Namatovu who were very popular by that time. In 2019, Vivian joined a church choir in Jinja which paved way for her in-born talent and dream of being a musician. [3] Vivian started recording her music under the OMS management where she produced singles like By the way, Tompona and Tombuusa. [4]

In 2022, Vivian was signed by Pawaz Entertainment and assisted by Liam Voice in song writing, audio production and artist branding. [5] She has released a number of songs that have performed well in her career under her new management (Pawaz Entertainment) like Hajji , Fly Away featuring Liam Voice , Fekka featuring John Blaq and Muntu wange.

In 2024, Vivian's Hajji song was nominated in the Galaxy Zzina awards as Best Afro Beat song of the year for the year 2023, she did not emerge as winner but the nomination increased on her career milestone. [6] [7]

Personal life

Vivian Mimi is not in any public relationship with anyone despite rumors of dating fellow musician Liam Voice which she denies publicly. [9] She does not have any children and lives a private personal life. [10]
