The Great Fuckening (fuckening - Wiktionary, the free dictionary [1]) is a series of social events and practices that have led to the radical decline of Western Civilization during and following the latter half of the 20th Century. Coming in waves it includes The Vietnam War atrocities and cover-ups, Arab-Israeli wars and religious fervor in general affecting realistic expectations for modern society, Petroleum politics, Thatcher/Reagan conservatism which drew on the misconstrued interpretation of 1930s-70s film projects as reality, Corporatocratic movements by some politicos to enshrine "corporate rights" as derived from God and inalienable, aggressive nationalism resurgences worldwide [2] starting in the closing days of the 20th century, the excision of actual rights from movements and laws passed to ensure civil rights for all people, the failure of women's rights to be established in spite of global action, the continued renewal of the laws, practices, and policies that enable the preservation of patriarchic rule in society and government, the derision and destruction of educational institutions and the devaluation of knowledge, research, and facts in favor of fear, conjecture, and ignorant opinions.
These events are separate occurrences with naturally related circumstances driven by a desire to justify bigotry, greed, and selfishness; and to establish a basis for repeal of government policies worldwide that may be considered socialist (which has been misunderstood by broad population segments and is reviled in modern conservative media and rhetoric). These desires and actions have been promoted by a wide variety of political and social action organizations and individuals bent on reducing government [3] and eliminating social programs they see as wasteful and unnecessary, but which benefit the weaker and lest wealthy members [4] of every society. These groups and individuals also see laissez-faire as the policy needed to keep world order, which incorrectly allows the rise of dictators, autocrats, and hegemonies into ruling and governing bodies. Such arise of authoritarianism has led, and continues to lead, to expansionism and interruption of self-governance by autonomous nations.
