Stefano Pisu (born August 4, 1974) is an European composer, musician, sound designer and producer, which deals mainly with jazz ( Free Jazz, Modal jazz, Avant-Garde Jazz ), Experimental, Minimal Serial Cultured Music and Noise Music.
His work is divided between highly experimental and contaminated research and traditional jazz. Influenced in his youth above all by the serial music of Steve Reich and Terry Riley, with whom he had also a workshop.
His style is characterized on the one side by a highly experimental approach especially as a composer and through unusual everyday electric tools played as musical instruments (demolition hammer, tig welder, ect) and with a component of electronic and noise music, on the other side the approach of a traditional jazz performance, free jazz, hard bop and avant-garde, as a musician with drums. [1]
Vegan activist since 2005, for years he has kept away from commercial stages, not being a propaganda artist, he only plays in friendly and familiar contexts.
