read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a
neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of
independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's
verifiability policy and the
notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies.

The School of Professional Education and Executive Development (SPEED) was established in 1999 by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). It functions as an educational unit under the PolyU-affilicated College of Professional and Continuing Education (PolyU CPCE), alongside the Hong Kong Community College (PolyU HKCC). It is the only institution in Hong Kong with a University Grants Committee (UGC) university background that offers top-up degree courses. [2]. It is also one of the ten applied learning course providers in Hong Kong, that provides elective subjects within the senior secondary curriculum. [3]
PolyU SPEED has been offering self-financed articulation degree (also known as top-up degree) Bachelor's degree programmes in various disciplines since 2003, including Accountancy, Business, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Marketing, Language and Communication, Building, Surveying and Property Management, Engineering, Health, Information Technology and Data Science [4], Design, and Social Sciences and Humanities. These programs are offered on a full-time or part-time basis, and are designed for associate degree and higher diploma graduates as well as working adults. The Bachelor's degrees are accredited and awarded by PolyU. The engineering degree programmes are also accredited by Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) [5]. As of 2020, PolyU SPEED has a total of around 14,600 degree graduates. In 2020, the number of admissions was 4540 [6].

In addition to degree programs, PolyU SPEED provides continuing education courses for working professionals and lifelong learners. These courses cover customized corporate training and consultancy services for organizations/corporations in the private and public sectors in Hong Kong. Some of the courses can be subsidized by the Hong Kong Government under the Continuing Education Fund (CEF) [8].
PolyU SPEED's Centre for Professional and Business English (CPBE) [9] offers a range of services to enhance English communication skills. These services include corporate training, professional development programs for teachers, recruitment screening tests, editing and proofreading services, and public workshops and courses. [10]
PolyU SPEED was first established in 1999 by PolyU, and operated on PolyU Main Campus. Initially, it offered short courses, diploma programs, and certificate programs.
In 2002, it became an educational unit of PolyU CPCE.
In 2003, it started offering articulation degree programs for sub-degree graduates.
In 2009, it extended its campus from PolyU Main Campus to PolyU Hung Hom Bay Campus and West Kowloon Campus.
SPEED has two campuses in Hong Kong, which are shared with Hong Kong Community College.
In 2024/25, PolyU SPEED offers 29 full-time and 17 part-time articulation honours degree programmes. [11]
