Samuel Oguachuba (born 5 February 1985), professionally known as Samklef (Samklef NoNi) stylized in all capital letters, is a Nigerian record producer, blogger, disk jockey, music director, mixing engineer , and songwriter. Samklef gained recognition in the Nigerian recording industry by producing. Wizkid's first album Superstar, one track of Banky w's R&BW album, and Olamide's YBNL album. [7] [8] [9]

Early life

Samklef is a native Imo State, but he was born in Ikeja, Lagos, a local government area in Lagos State.

Career

Samklef started his Djing career by performing at parties in his community before moving to perform at top events and shows in the city. He later switched to sound production, he got his big break. While working as a DJ, Samklef had been learning how to produce musical beats, and in a couple of months, he became good at the skill. Thus, he began seeking upcoming artists with whom he could collaborate.

Samklef has produced several well-known singles, including " Don't Dull” by Wizkid, and “Stupid Love" by Olamide. [10] [11] [12] [13]

He was responsible for producing a significant portion of Wizkid’s 2011 " Superstar" album and has worked with artists such as Ice Prince, Olamide, Banky W., Akon, Simi, M.I , and Waje, among others. Controversies

On 23rd April 2022, Samklef accused "Banky W" of stealing royalties for Wizkid’s album which he produced. via his Twitter page, He tweeted. [23] [24] Samklef also became involved in disputes on Twitter and Instagram with various artists and bloggers, including Wizkid, Davido [25] [26] Adekunle Gold, Simi [27] [28], Tunde Ednut, Seun Kuti and Very Dark Man. Political views

On April 21, 2017, Samklef in a post on Twitter called for the resignation of Muhammadu Buhari who served as the president of Nigeria from 2015 to 2023, in a post he made via his Twitter handle he said "My opinion! I think president Buhari needs to suspend himself by resigning to save us all". [32] [33] [34]

In October 2021 samklef came under significant scrutiny for remarks about Muhammadu Buhari and Northern Nigeria. On the social media platform Twitter, the artist expressed a strong opinion suggesting that the North, apart from suya — a popular regional dish of roasted beef — has produced nothing of positive consequence. The statement specifically targeted President Buhari, asserting, "Buhari will forever be a failure nothing good can come out from the north except suya." This declaration sparked divergent reactions among followers, with some endorsing the sentiment while others vehemently criticized him for painting an entire region with a broad stroke.
