Princess Joy Osusu, also known as Joy Osusu (Born 28 January 1984), is an Entrepreneur, humanitarian, public relations officer, and Event planner. She is the CEO of Glo May Alliance Company [1]. This event firm organizes the annual Mr Elegant and Most Elegant Girl in Nigeria, a pageant platform that discovers and unveils talented youths. [2] [3]She is also the founder of Achievers Awards International and Nigeria Women Achievers Awards. At 28, she made her first publication which she founded, called simplyblack which focuses on celebrating people's strengths. In 2017, She won a Starrz Award for her brand, the Nigerian Achievers Award as the next-rated brand of the year. Joy won an award for advocacy at GMYT African Humanitarian Awards in 2019. She was honored with an award at the African Fashion Designers award in 2023 as an African female outstanding event entrepreneur of the year.

Early Life and education

Joy was born on 28 January 1984, in Delta State, Nigeria. She is Urobo. She is the eldest daughter from a family of five. She attended Amuwo Grammar School in Lagos State. She tried to get admission into the university through JAMB but to no Avail. She then decided to take a pre-degree exam at the University of Ilorin, which she passed and got admission into the 200 level. She studied political science at the University of Ilorin, where she obtained her bachelor of science in 2004 with marketing, branding, and media experience gained from several white-collar jobs before settling for my passion. Career

Early career

After her NYSC in Ekiti state in 2004, she moved to Lagos where she got a job with Leadway Assurance company where she worked as an Insurance Marketer for 6 years. She got certified as an insurance personnel by the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria In 2010. Later in the year, she got another job with Love World Publishing (reference books). During her time working with Reference books, she felt it was time for her to chase her dreams of organizing events. She also worked with Impact Charity where she helped them launch a magazine called Impact.

Joy had a passion for event planning from a tender age. Her younger sister was her muse and inspiration given that she was tall and had a Model figure. It started with her but later went on to open her modeling agency to manage herself and other models. In 2012, she launched a magazine called Link & models to display her girls.

Glo May Alliance Company

Glo May Alliance Company (Formerly known as Glo May Specialties) was launched in 2012 and focuses on helping brands organize events such as product launches, Product unveilings, seminars, and Charity outings. They organized events for companies like Ecoboost Fuel enzyme lunch, BMO Foundation charity out, and Impact group charity outings. [5]

Most Elegant Girl in Nigeria and Mr Elegant Nigeria

In 2014, Joy got an urge to start her very own pageantry after doing some for her colleagues who gave her franchise in organizing Most Beautiful Face in Delta, and Miss Tourism in Delta at the state level. [6] In 2024, Most Elegant Girl celebrated her 10th anniversary while Mr Elegant celebrated its Fifth anniversary in Lagos. [7]

Achievers Awards International

The Achievers Awards International (Formerly known as Nigeria Achievers Awards) [8] started as a form of inspiration for youths where individuals who have excelled in various fields and have made significant contributions to their countries and communities are celebrated. [9] In November 2014, the awards gained widespread acceptance and have become a symbol of hope and inspiration for many. [10]

Nigerian Women Achievers Award

This award came about to commemorate International Women’s Day which focuses on celebrating women, who dare to dream and inspire. [11] The first award was held in 2014, in Lagos Nigeria. In 2024, NWAA celebrated its 10th anniversary. Tianniah, Mabel Makun, Agatha Amata, Bukunmi Oluwashina, Mercy Aigbe, Nuella Ngijidibo, Funke Akindele, Nkechi Blessing Sunday,  Gloria Young, and many more also received awards for Nigerian women achievers.

Men of Honor Awards

This award is for men of notable caliber and status who have displayed disciplined and consistent exemplary leadership qualities in their different fields with visible feats. The first award was held in 2014, in Lagos Nigeria. This award has honored top-tier men like HRM. OBA Yisa Adeniyi Olusola Olaniyin, Hon Olumuyiwa Owadara, Amb. Eng Blessing Ofesi, Dr. Richard Ayodeji Makun (AY),  Prince (Dr.) Ebiyemi P. Emiko, FIMC, CMC, and celebrities like white money, Omasola of Big Brother, Denrele, Lateef Adedimeji, and many more. Works and Recognition

Joy was inducted into the ECOWAS Youth Ambassadors as a youth Ambassador by West Africa Youth Council in 2023. [14]

Joy was presented a merit award by Lagos State Eti Osa Achievers.

The Steem Recognition Award was awarded Joy Entertainment Brand of the Year. She was presented with an award of excellence by the most consistent event organizers.

She was named the fashionable pageant organizer of the year at the MYKMARY Fashion Awards and Outstanding Entertainment Personality of the Year in 2018 powered by Sosmith Empire Entertainment.

In 2017, She won the Most Outstanding Young Achiever of the year on merit. In 2020, she was named one of the top 100 most influential young Deltan Awards Ranking and won Brand of the Year at the Leading Youths Award. In 2023, she won Entertainment Entrepreneur of the Year at the Cool Wealth6.0 Awards. On October 23, 2022, she won Youth Ambassador of the Year at the African Most Industrious Women Awards.
