Pierre-Alain Giraud (born in 1982) is a French film director, producer, editor and cinematographer. [1].
In 2013, he followed Ben Frost, Valgeir Sigurdsson, Nico Mulhy and Sam Amidon on tour and directs the feature documentary Everything, Everywhere, All the time, showing the life on tour of the music label Bedroom Community [2] [3] [4] [5].
He collaborates with Valgeir Sigurdsson on multiple projects, creating the short animation film Winter Sleep and videos for the opera Wide Slumber [6] [7].
He works as a cinematographer and editor on feature documentaries and short films, such as BAFTA nominated short film Only Sound Remains.
From 2011, he works regularly with Gabríela Friðriksdóttir and creates with her short animation films and art films, all shown in 2019 at the CCNRB in Rennes, France. [8]
He collaborates with Sigur Rós and the Icelandic Danse Company on a music video premiered at the Reykjavik Winter Light Festival in 2018.
He also works for theatre, directing films projected on stage, collaborating with stage directors Arthur Nauzyciel and Stéphane Foenkinos [9] [10] [11] [12] [13].
In 2019, he collaborates with composer Anna S. Þorvaldsdóttir and choreographer Erna Ómarsdóttir on Aiōn, creating video art projected on the walls of the Gothenburg Concert Hall.
