NeoX is a proprietary game engine developed by NetEase in 2005 initially for the Windows platform and later adapted for iOS and Android.
It is at the base of most of the titles released by NetEase. [1]
The successor to NeoX, [2] more targeted for mobile devices, is the Messiah engine.
It features object oriented scripting in C++, Python and Lua.
The file types are not standard, NeoX uses a proprietary compressed file to store its assets such as 3d objects and textures (.NPK). And for the sound effects it uses the FMOD engine (.fsb).
NeoX supports the DirectX 11 APi for Desktop platform and OpenGl for mobile platforms.
