History

Founded in 1985, Tarjeta Naranja was launched in Córdoba, Argentina initially with the aim of providing internal financing to customers at the sports store Salto 96, founded by friends and entrepreneurs, David Ruda and Gerardo Asrin, the latter of whom passed away in 2017. [2]

The addition of Banco Galicia as a shareholder in 1995, through the purchase of 49% of the shareholding, facilitated its expansion throughout Argentina, accompanied by new financial plans and services for customers. This trust accelerated and strengthened its growth in a short period, leading to the Banco increasing its shareholding from 49% to 80% in 1998, through capital contributions and the purchase of more shares from the Ruda-Asrin.

Subsequently, they focused on providing financial services primarily through credit cards, with a focus on accessibility and financial inclusion. Over the years, the company has expanded its services and established a network of branches and service points across the country.

They offer a variety of financial products, including credit cards, personal loans, and insurance. The company has been notable for its presence in the community and commitment to providing financial solutions to different segments of the population.

In 2017, they changed their identity and became simply Naranja, aiming to expand their product portfolio to become a digital solutions ecosystem. In 2018, they merged with Tarjeta Nevada and expanded to Mendoza and San Juan.

The company, with two main offices in Córdoba and Buenos Aires, has consolidated its presence throughout the Argentine territory with a network of over 180 branches. Backed by a team of more than 3,000 collaborators, the firm stands out in the Argentine financial sector for its commitment and nationwide expansion. [3]
