Professor Mohamed Loutfi الأستاذ الدكتور محمد لطفي is an academic, specialised in the field of Higher Education. Having obtained his BSc in Economics and Political Science, an MSc in Information Technology and a PhD in Systems Thinking; Professor Loutfi has developed interests in a wide area of research, including Modelling and Simulation of Social Systems, Non-linear, and Dynamic Feedback Systems. He is a former ambassador (council member) at the Observatory of Magna Charta Universitatum [1] of Fundamental University Values and Rights in Bologna. He also served as Vice-President of the Board of the Arab European Leadership Network in Higher Education (ARELEN) [2] and was the first in Europe to participate in a global education think tank established by the Ministry of Education in China to encourage innovation, entrepreneurship, and start-up education. Among Professor Loutfi's projects is organizing partnerships with over 25 countries, some on a governmental level. Professor Loutfi's Projects have included building partnerships with universities in different countries, enhancing institutional cooperation in learning, teaching and enterprise, and delivering programmes for leaders of most renowned universities to implement internalisation strategies. Over the years, he has been involved in many EU projects concerning Higher Education Reform, Accreditation, and Quality Assurance for Ukraine, Russia, Jordan, Lebanon, and Egypt. [8] [7] In addition, he worked with the Ministries of Higher Education in Lebanon, Egypt, [9] [10] [11] [12] Libya, Tunisia, and Morocco to develop a framework for building leadership capacity in Higher Education. [13] [14]
Professor Loutfi serves as President and Vice-Chancellor of The British University in Egypt. [15] [16] [17]Prior to this, he held the post of Vice-Chancellor’s Special Envoy at Coventry University. [18] He has served in a variety of leadership positions, including Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Cardiff Metropolitan University and the University of Sunderland.
In addition to his role as professor of Internationalisation at Cardiff Metropolitan University, he holds two visiting professorships at Coventry University and Eurasia University. With over 30 years of experience in higher education and extensive experience managing and leading universities. [19] [20]
