Mithun Shyam is an Indian Bharatanatyam dancer, choreographer and teacher based in Bengaluru. [1] He has contributed to social and gender-based themes through classical dance. [2] [3]
Shyam is a student of Guru Padmini Ramachandran and is trained in the Vazhuvoor style of Bharatanatyam. [4] [5] He is an 'A' graded artiste of Doordarshan and is also empanelled with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations. [6] His dance productions include Purushantaragatah, [7] Shyama Sundari, [8] Manaha, 18 Golden Steps, [9] Bibi Nachiyar, [10] Gandarva Abhinaya, [11] etc. He established the dance institution Vaishnavi Natyashala, in Bengaluru [12] in 1998.
