Dr. Mashood Qadri is a Pakistani-American nephrologist and filmmaker whose films focus on humanity and societal issues, challenging social myths. His first movie, Saawan (2017), won three international awards at Salento International Film Festival (2017). Other films include Riyasat Mae Riyasat (2016).
He currently works as a Kidney Specialist in the State of Arizona.
Qadri attended Delhi School Karachi. He attained his MBBS degree from Dow University of Health Sciences. He moved to the United States in 1995 and worked at the psychiatry department of New York University Medical Center until 1998. Furthermore, he served in internal Medicine at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey from 1998 to 2001, and at New York cash private practice from 2001 to 2003.
He was an Assistant Professor at Internal University of Shreveport Medicine from 2003 to 2005. Furthermore, he pursued a Nephrology fellowship at the Department of Nephrology and Hypertension from 2005 to 2007. Since 2007 he has served as a Nephrologist in Arizona.
Qadri launched his filmmaking career with Saawan (2017). Other films include Riyasat Mae Riyasat (2016) and Aar Paar (2023). He has also appeared as an actor in a satirical show, Awam Ki Adalat, and a comedy talk show, Halat-e-Hafza.
He has a small family which consists of his father, Muhammad Adid Qadri; his wife, Asma Qadri; and his daughter.
