The Major Clubs T20 Tournament , is a domestic Twenty20 cricket competition in Sri Lanka, The competition was established by the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) in 2022.It is the top-level Twenty20 competition in Sri Lanka. [1] [2] [3]
The League was established in 2022 titled as Major Clubs T20 Tournament. 22 Clubs teams participated in the event and it was a successful initiative by Sri Lanka Cricket. The champion of the first league was Sri Lanka Army for the inaugural edition of the tournament.
The 22 Clubs Cricket Teams compete for the title, initially playing in four geographical Group, the number varying across the years. in seasons with four groups the top 1 teams in each Group qualify for the playoff stage, with a set of semi-finals leaving four teams in the competition.
