This is a list of " particularly dangerous situation" (PDS) watches issued by the National Weather Service. [1] [2] Particularly dangerous situation watches are issued to convey special urgency in some watch or warning messages for unusually extreme and life-threatening severe weather events, above and beyond the average severity for the type of event. There are three types of PDS watches which have been issued by the National Weather Service: PDS tornado watches (PDS TOA), PDS severe thunderstorm watches (PDS SVA), and PDS flash flood watches (PDS FFA).
