Linda Leine (born in Riga) is a Latvian pianist.
Born and raised in Latvia, Linda Leine initiated her musical education at the Emīls Dārziņš Music School, continued at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music with Ilze Treija, and later with Arnis Zandmanis. She furthered her musical studies in Germany, where she attended the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg under Lilya Zilberstein and Burkhard Kehring, followed by a master's program in piano solo at the Lübeck Academy of Music under Konrad Elser. In October 2015, Leine, alongside her duo partner Daria Marshinina, pursued piano duo performance at the Rostock University of Music and Theatre. [1].
Leine co-founded the Trio Fabel, with clarinetist Anna Gāgane and cellist Kristaps Bergs. The trio is noted for its collaborations with young composers and performances of their works [2]. She has a close partnership with soprano Pia Davila, resulting in the 2022 album Irgendwo auf der Welt [3].
Leine has received several accolades, including the Steinway Förderpreis in 2015 [4], a third prize at the Franz Schubert and Modern Music competition in 2015 [5], and the main prize at the 9th International Competition for "Suppressed Music" in 2016 [6].
