John Suh was born on February 9, 1995, in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Glenbrook North High School in 2013 [3]. At Glenbrook North High School, he was a middle blocker for the volleyball team. [4]
In September 2008, he was cast by SM Entertainment through the SM Global Audition event held in Chicago and became a trainee. [5] [6] Johnny would travel back and forth between Chicago and Seoul, attending the trainee program during the summer, calling it "like a summer camp". [7]
