John Owen (born April 16, 1735 or 1741 in Salisbury, Litchfield County, Connecticut Colony) was a farmer in colonial New England, in what later became the U.S. state of Connecticut. He is most known for being a candidate for earliest born person to be photographed.

Life

Owen's mother Miriam Wright was 23 years old when he was born, and his father Aaron Owen was 38. On May 31, 1768 in Salisbury, he wed Johanna Phelps. They raised at least five sons. He was a farmer for most of his life and was also a tavern owner. [1] He died at the age of 107 on February 24, 1843, in Carroll, Chautauqua County, New York, and was interred in Conewango Township, Warren County, Pennsylvania. [2]
