John Marx is a San Francisco-based American architect. He is co-founder and Chief Artistic Officer of the firm Form4 Architecture, established in 1998. [1] [2] He is a winner of the 2017 American Prize for Architecture [3] [4] [5] from the Chicago Athenaeum and the 2021 John Gates Percival International Prize for Literature from the Galena International Poetry Festival. [6]
Marx has written extensively on the topics of design theory, [7] especially on digital design, [8] [9] placemaking in cyberspace, [10] [11] [12] [13] and the architecture of the metaverse. [14] [15] [16] [17] Recently, he has explored the relationship of gender and architecture. [18] [19] [20]
