Jennifer Rött is a New York-based designer and mixed media artist. Rött is a leading figure in the design and use of artificial intelligence, having won a number of awards for her work. Her work is published and displayed internationally.

Work

Rött's work contrasts resilience, grief, and elation - dealing with topics of foster care, abuse, and the female experience. She works primarily in pencil, ink, paint, and mixed media. Rött creates her own Artificial Intelligence, feeding it her memories, emotions, and artistic preferences. These AI sketches become a springboard for five further sketches, each representing a stage of grief.

The final pieces are vibrant expressions of healing. They acknowledge the abuse and trauma, but ultimately sing of a newfound perspective, the strength of chosen family, and a profound appreciation for life and love. Through her art, Rött not only heals, but inspires.

Life

Rött's foster parents changed her last name to Bazan in 1994. Jennifer graduated high school [1] and college [2] under the name Jennifer Bazan. She changed her name back to Rött in 2016.

Having spent 13 years in foster care before emancipating herself at 16, Rött faced homelessness while putting herself through, and excelling in, high school and college, graduating summa cum laude with a BFA in Visual Communications from Northern Illinois University and several honors degrees
