Intellectual societies have played a great role in the advancement of science and literature, among other human intellectual activities. Usually these societies or clubs have started around some luminary, for example: Socrates leading to Plato's Academy [1] and more recently Benjamin Franklin started Leather Apron Club. [2] [3] Usually a close group of friends were meeting regularly to discuss a topic or a book. Some of these early club later became prominent societies like the Royal Society [4] and American Philosophical Society that were offshoots of the Invisible College and the club of Benjamin Franklin retrospectively.
