Huang Renjun ( Chinese: 黄仁俊, born on March 23, 2000 [1] [2]), known mononymously as Renjun ( Korean: 황런쥔) is a Chinese singer and dancer. [3] He was born in Jilin City, Jilin Province, China [1] and is of Chinese ethnicity. Huang is a member of the South Korean boy group NCT under SM Entertainment, where he serves as a main vocalist and lead dancer. He made his debut in August 2016 as part of the subunit NCT Dream.
Huang was born on March 23, 2000, in Jilin Province, China [1] as an only child. Due to his interest and the part of China he stays in, he has had exposure to Korean language and Korean culture from a young age. [1] He attended Jilin Middle School, and after his debut, Huang and fellow NCT Dream group member Chenle and enrolled at Beijing Contemporary Music Academy High School as part of the Class of 2017. The song "New Beginning" was created as part of their school project. [4]
Huang became a trainee under SM Entertainment in 2015. [1]
On August 21, 2016, Huang's individual concept photo for NCT's third subunit, NCT Dream, was released, signalling the group's upcoming debut. Huang made his first appearance. [5] On August 25, he debuted with the group on Mnet's M! Countdown with the single "Chewing Gum," officially debuting in South Korea. [6]
On August 5, 2019, Huang became the DJ for the radio show Yuedong Seoul. [7]
