GDT European Wildlife Photographer of the Year is an annual international wildlife photography competition. The competition is organised by The German Society for Nature Photography (GDT). [1] [2] The competition is considered to be one of the most prestigious wildlife photography competitions in Europe. [3]
The first competition was held in 2001 and is open for photographers residing in Europe and also for GDT members. [4] [5] In 2021 over 19,000 images were submitted to the competition. [6] [7]
The winners are presented at the International Nature Photography Festival in Lünen every year. [8]
