Melichar Oravec (Czech pronunciation: [ˈmɛ.lɪ.xar ˈo.r̩a.vɛt͡s]; born December 13, 1995 Ostrava) [1] [2], better known as FlyGunCZ, is a Czech streamer [3] and youtuber [4], one of the leading figures of Twitch.tv in the Czech Republic. [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] He owns a YouTube channel FlyGunCZ, where he has been regularly publishing gameplay videos since 2010 [10] [11], but since 2022 he has been focusing exclusively on making talking, satirical videos. [10] [12]
He was born in Ostrava on December 13 1995 and lives in Zbyslavice in the Ostrava-město district. [1] He graduated from elementary school and then from the eight-year high school 1st International School of Ostrava (1stISO), where he got his high school diploma, [13] but because he was not accepted to FAMU he decided not to continue his studies at the university and rather to continue his already started career as a youtuber. [10] He has one older and one younger brother, nicknamed Šmejd (Bastard), [10] with whom he has made several videos. [14] His brother is a humorous spice to his work, as he is not good at commenting or acting. [15]
His career began in 2010 when he started making videos in English from the popular games Metin2 and RuneScape. [10] The breakthrough moment of his career was the first video in English from Call of Duty: Black Ops, which he released in 2011. Since then, his work has become more diverse and started to gain popularity. One of his most popular series is called Nedělní Blbosti (Sunday's Bullshit), in which he has played mostly children's games, or games that are very poorly crafted or otherwise excel in bizarreness. These videos came out every Sunday, and often featured Scum. [15]
In 2019, Twitch.tv has become his main platform where he regularly streams games, comments on current events and interacts with his community. [16] [17] He mostly uses humour in his videos, only occasionally showing seriousness, otherwise irony and satire dominate his videos. He has managed to charm thousands of people with his specific humor, but they often let him know in the comments if something is over the line or too embarrassing. [15] In 2015, 2016 and 2017, he was ranked by Forbes magazine as one of the "77 most influential Czechs on social media." [18] [19] [20] In 2017, he appeared in the MIXXER show on the Óčko station. From 2014 to January 2019, he worked as an editor on the game show Re-play. He also worked briefly as an editor on the show New Game +. He also participated in several YouTuber festivals such as Turné LP, Utubering and Starfest.
In addition, he has appeared in the gaming industry, dubbing his own character in the seventh installment of the Polda game series. His character also appeared in the Czech video game Hobo: Tough Life.
