Firewatch is an upcoming mystery adventure film based on the 2016 video game of the same name.
A man takes a job as a fire lookout at Shoshone National Forest in 1989, and soon begins to experience strange happenings in the forest that directly targets himself and a fellow lookout.
In September 2016, the film rights for the game were acquired by Good Universe. [1] No further development on the film had been announced until August 2020, when Snoot Entertainment had acquired the rights, with Good Universe's involvement ending after being purchased by Lionsgate. Game developers Sean Vanaman and Jake Rodkin will serve as producers on the film. [2]
