Faisal Sakhi Butt ( Urdu:فیصل سخی بٹ ; born 8 January 1968) is a Pakistani Businessman and Politician. [1] He joined his father’s business in 1990 and took up the legacy of his father who had established the business in 1956. He previously contested for the Senate election on PPP ticket in 2018. [2] He also contested in general elections in the year 2013 from NA-48 Islamabad. [3]
Born in Rawalpindi, Punjab Faisal studied at Harper Adams University and received Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He was elected as the Executive Committee Member of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry for three years from 1989 to 1992. [4] He remained member of Prime Minister Steering Committee on Islamabad for five years from 2008 to 2013. [5] The Prime Minister of Pakistan appointed him as the Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Task Force on Islamabad from 2010 to 2012 [6] and Chief Coordinator of the Prime Minister on Islamabad ( ICT – CDA) from 2012 to 2013. [7] He was been made the honourary administrator of the Gun and Country Club, Islamabad and remained on the position for three years from 2010 to 2013. The PPP nominated him as President of the Pakistan People’s Party, Islamabad and he remained on that position for three years from 2014 to 2016.
Faisal was born on 8 January 1968 in Rawalpindi, Punjab to a wealthy and prominent Butt family. Faisal’s father Muhammad Sakhi Butt an influential businessman, was a former Vice President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry during 1984-1986. [8] Faisal received his early education at St Mary's School, Rawalpindi and Islamabad College for Boys G-6/3, Islamabad. He attained his bachelor's degree from Harper Adams University in 1989. Faisal is fluent in English, Urdu, Punjabi & Pashto. Faisal has married in famous Bilour Family of KPK. [9] He has married to Palwasha Faisal daughter of Aziz Ahmed Bilour and niece of Ghulam Ahmad Bilour and Bashir Ahmad Bilour. [10] [11]
He is father of two sons and one daughter.
Faisal has continued the legacy of Sir Sakhi Butt most responsibly and compassionately patronizing Mohammad Khan Memorial Trust Hospital, named after his late Grandfather in district Gujrat of Pakistan. [12] Education and minority rights are also key areas of Faisal’s interest for extending all possible assistance. Recently, 250 Christian families residing in the slums of Islamabad were provided with school kits for child education. [13]
