Erëmirë Krasniqi is an art writer, curator, and researcher based in Prishtina, Kosovo. She is the curator of The Echoing Silences of Metal and Skin, a sculptural installation by Doruntina Kastrati for the National Pavilion of the Republic of Kosovo at the 60th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia. Her curatorial methodology and research practice engages with archives, oral history, and critical fabulation to account for and redress absences in historical records. She has curated exhibitions in Kosovo and abroad. She regularly contributes to various publications in the fields of art, culture and the history of social movements.
Krasniqi received her M.A. in Comparative Literature from Dartmouth College and her B.A. in Art and Aesthetics from Bard College Berlin [1]
As an independent curator, Krasniqi has led and curated projects for institutions such as the National Gallery of Kosovo and National Gallery of Arts in Albania as well as the 39th EVA International and Manifesta 14 Prishtina biennials.
Krasniqi's research interests range from histories of socialist modernist art to grassroots expressions that challenge dominant historical narratives. From 2017 to 2024, Krasniqi led Oral History Kosovo [2], a research platform which enables critical engagement with different forms of narrating, recollecting, and archiving. From 2022 to 2023, Krasniqi served as a member of the Initiating Council of the Museum of Contemporary Art, which is expected to be fully operational in the capital of Kosovo by 2028.
