Emerson High School (EHS) is located at 6300 Collin McKinney Parkway in McKinney, Texas, and is within the Frisco Independent School District. Emerson High School first opened in 2021 to grades 9-10, adding a grade each year, with the 2023-2024 school year as the first year with full enrollment for grades 9-12. [3]

The school is named after the town of Emerson, which was later renamed to Frisco. The town had been named for McKinney businessman Francis Emerson, who owned a bank and large amounts of land, including a farm where the Emerson townsite was located. Due to the school being located in McKinney city limits but being part of Frisco ISD, the Emerson name was chosen because it reflected the history of both areas. [4]

Emerson High School is zoned for southwest McKinney, roughly covering an area bordered by Ridge Road to the east, Eldorado Parkway on the north, Custer Road to the west, and State Highway 121 (Sam Rayburn Tollway) along the south. [5]
