Doglodi ( Cyrillic: Дoглoди) is a settlement in the municipality of Ilidža, Bosnia and Herzegovina. [1] It is bordered by Azići, Otes, Dolovi and Briješće Polje.[ citation needed] The territory has around 5,000 inhabitants[ citation needed] and an area of 2.02 km2. It is located between the rivers AJ Dobrinja, Miljacka. [2] [3] [4]

There is a small football stadium in Doglodi where NK SAŠK 1910 Napredak Sarajevo plays. [5][ circular reference]

History

The first apostolic vicar in Bosnia, Bishop Mate Delivić, in his report from 1737, mentioned the place Doglod in the parish of Sarajevo, with around 15 Catholics. [6] [7]

Modern history

During the Bosnian war of 1992-1995, Sarajevo was besieged. On the river Miljacka and Bosna there were catastrophic battles near the settlements of Osjek, Doglodi, Otes and Azići. [8] Doglodi was a settlement that had predominately catholic population. Major battle of Doglodi and Otes started on 1st of December. Serbian attack from three directions started from the village of Bojnik. Doglodi fell first on 4th of December, and then Otes fell on 7th of December. [9] [10]

Ethnic cleansing in Doglodi

Ethnic cleansing in Doglodi was an overlooked event in Bosnian history. Serb military commander, Borislav Berjan, that lived in Doglodi was a maniac that ordered mass killing of Bosniaks and Croats that lived in the area of Doglodi. Killing lasted from april 1992 to the end of 1993,[ citation needed] in other words, until the non-Serb population left the area. [11]
