Derix Glasstudios is a prominent German company specializing in stained glass artistry. Founded in 1866. [1] and headquartered in Taunusstein, Hessen, it is renowned for producing both traditional and contemporary glass artworks [2]. Throughout its history, the company has been instrumental in the development and international recognition of glass art for architectural applications.
Their global footprint is evident in iconic pieces such as the central subway station Formosa Boulevard in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Cologne Cathedral's south window [3] known as the "Richter Fenster" [4], and the "Search" glass tower in Omaha, USA [5]. Particularly noteworthy is the "Dome of Light" in the Formosa Boulevard station [6], a symbol of Taiwanese democratic emergence, crafted by Italian artist Narzissus Quagliata. Other notable artists that Derix worked with or for are Gerhard Richter [7], Guy Kemper [8] Charlotte Ann Paul [9] and James Earley [10]
