Dark Army is an upcoming American monster movie written and directed by Paul Feig.
It was announced in September 2019 that Paul Feig would write and direct the film, which would incorporate some of Universal Pictures classic monsters into the plot. [1] In May 2020, Feig had submitted two drafts of the screenplay to Universal, and stated it's continued development relied on the studio figuring out what it wished to do with their franchise. [2] Feig reiterated his desire to make the film in February 2021, stating it would be "big and expensive'. Feig also stated he was utilizing special effects on his film The School for Good and Evil as a means to gain experience in the field for this film. [3] In May, Feig revealed he was rewriting the screenplay. [4] He detailed in an October interview the film would be an ode to the James Whale horror films, and stated that Universal presently found the project "too expensive" to greenlight. [5]
