Chak No 16 is a village situated on south bank of Canal (upper Jhelum) in Tehsil Malakwal,District Mandi Bahauddin near Gojra.its distance from District Capital Mandi Bahauddin is 35 km,from Malakwal 25 Km and about 5km from its main stop Gojra via Chak no 33 khassa.other main stops and road are through Gohar sharif,Khai and chak no 6. When chak no 16 was founded it was known as Baagh-Bahaar.after a long time in British establishment a new scheme was adopted and too many new villages and towns were founded which allowed the migrants from other districts and locations to settle and establish these new towns known as chak.this all new procedure and establishment process was done for the sack of deciplined governing and a reward scheme of the that time when a previous canal and irrigation structure was upgraded and some new canals were layed out.the most common example is Canal Upper Jhelum.in that establishment our village got its name as Chak No 16.among all these migrants the gujjar family was in majority so slowly as time passed the village pronounced as Kararriwala because majority of the migrants was from native kararriwala(kharian).and from that time it's known with its both names official and unofficial(Chak no 16,kararriwala)
Actual founders of the village were syed Sajjad Hussain shah,s(ex) and raja nazar Ali numberdaar(ex) who was the son of Raja Hakim Ali(ex) zaildar who came here before 1947.
Overall population of village is about 13,000 people (2012). People of this village are very respective,moderate,well educated and honest.main way of living is agriculture but a large number of people is working abroad in different countries Around the globe like America,United Kingdom,Italy,Spain,France,middle east,gulf,Japan and Canada.and some of them are now permanently settled in those countries.many are serving in government Sector and private sector aswell.
Major crops of Chak No. 16 include wheat, rice, suger cane, jawar, and bajra.
Chak no 16 has 5 mohallas known as following
There are 2 govt schools in the village
There are 2 private schools too.
There are 4 mazars around the village.
