Dr. C. Norman Coleman is a Senior Investigator at the National Cancer Institute's Center for Cancer Research, Radiation Oncology Branch (ROB) and Associate Director for the Radiation Research Program (RRP) [1], and the co-founder and Senior Advisor to the International Cancer Expert Corps (ICEC) based in Washington, D.C. [2]
For his work in global nuclear radiological responses such as the 2011 Fukushima nuclear accident he was awarded the 2011 Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Homeland Security Medal. He has also been the recipient of the following: Gold Medal, American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) (2005), Radiation Research Society Failla Award (2016), University of Vermont, Doctor of Science Honoris Causia (2015), National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship Ellen Lewis Stovall Patient Centered Cancer Care Award (2018), National Council of Radiation Protection and Measurement Warren Sinclair Medal (2019), and D.A. Henderson Lifetime Achievement Award (2023).
He is Fellow of the following: American College of Physicians (FACP) and of Radiology (FACR), American Society of Radiation Oncology (FASTRO) [3] and of Clinical Oncology (FASCO).
