Austin Raymond Bell is a prominent and highly successful engineer and author within the power generation industry. He is currently the lead engineer of an American Fortune Global 500 company leading the design of hydroelectric powerplants across North America.. [1]. He has developed numerous US-Patents owned and regulated by the companies he has been affiliated with. Formally, he was the lead engineer of all global cooling systems for a separate, German, Fortune Global 500 designing generators, steam turbines, and gas turbines in the thermal/nuclear power plant and power generation industry. [1] His knowledge in combined-cycle, nuclear, and hydroelectric power plants has significantly contributed to the development, uprate, and refurbishment of numerous power plants including but not limited to:
McGuire Nuclear Station (North Carolina, USA), Cascade Power Plant (Alberta, Canada) [2], Sun Ba Power Plant (Taiwan) [3], Kilroot Power Station (Northshore Belfast, Northern Ireland), Trumbull Energy Center (Ohio, USA) [4], Tuxpan Combined Cycle Power Plant (Veracruz, Mexico) [5], Upper N. Austin was born a US citizen and grew up in Union County of North Carolina within an upper-middle class family. The earliest known years of his life were where he apparently lived just down the street from the private college of Wingate University. From what we know, he attended Piedmont Middle School, and later Porter Ridge High School in Indian Trail, NC within the United States of America.
Austin is an ABET board certified engineer operating out of the state of North Carolina who acquired his undergraduate degree majoring in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a concentration in energy and a graduate degree in Engineering Management through Duke University, pending [1]. Throughout his undergraduate career, he was sworn into the United States Marine Corps on an Air Contract in May 2010 through the Raleigh, NC OSO. He attended active duty basic training in Quantico, VA serving under Fmr. Captain Smith in Charly Company 4th Platoon OCC Class 214 [1]. After his USMC career, he went straight into a design engineering role as a technical consultant in mechanical engineering with various large power companies across the USA like Duke Energy, Progress Energy, AEP, So Cal Edison, TECO, and Florida Power and Light on the distribution side of power generation. He has designed various transmission and primary distribution circuits within the continental United States of America in the aerial and underground disciplines [1]
Austin is also a dedicated pilot and member to the AOPA, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He began flying as a private student pilot in December of 2005 out of Goose Creek Airport (28A) and has maintained this licensure by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) since 2007. He successfully completed a linear succession triangular cross-country Coastal Carolina's solo flight, a total distance of 448 nautical miles in just under 5 hours in 2018 FROM Concord Regional Airport (KJQF) TO Wilmington International Airport (ILM) TO Cape Fear Regional Jetport (KSUT) TO N. Myrtle Grand Strand (KCRE) TO Myrtle Beach International (MYR) TO Georgetown County Airport (KGGE) TO Charleston Airforce Base-International (CHS) and TO Concord Regional Airport (KJQF). His first solo was in February of 2007 out of Monroe Regional Airport (MLU) to cut his shirt-tail off.
Along with Austin's significant engineering career accomplishments, he is a successfully active licensed real estate broker within the state of North Carolina (License No. 331000) [8]and is affiliated with Horizon Realty, Sunset Properties Group. Austin currently resides on the lake in the Lake Norman area of North Carolina in the United States of America. His private investment portfolio seems to be [mostly] tailored to real estate.
