Antho | |
---|---|
Parent | Amulius |
Antho was the only daughter of Amulius, the king of Alba Longa, who had overthrown his brother Numitor. When Amulius wanted to execute Numitor's daughter Rhea for becoming pregnant after joining the cult of Vestal, which meant an oath of celibacy, Antho gave a passionate defense, and Rhea was spared. [1] Antho's fate thereafter is unknown.
Rhea later gave birth to the twins Romulus and Remus, who would later grow up to defeat and kill Amulius, and eventually found Rome. [2]
