Ann Mulholland Information

Ann Mulholland is a Canadian businesswoman with a Doctor of Finance specializing in the algorithms that make up consumer credit scores. She is also a public speaker [1], real estate investor [2], television personality, and wedding officiant. She founded iFinance Canada in 1996 [3] building the company over 25 years.

In 2017 she starred in a reality television series The Real Housewives of Toronto, which aired on the Canadian network, Slice and was distributed by Corus Entertainment. She is slated to star in Queen of the Castle, distributed internationally through Bell Media.

She is a mother of six and is married to a plastic surgeon, Dr. Stephen Mulholland, both currently reside in England.

Biography

Personal Life

Ann Mulholland was born on October 20th, 1960 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to adoptive parents, John A. Macdonell and Nadyne Macdonell Roseborough. The family soon after moved to New Zealand, Hawaii, and Kelowna in British Columbia, before settling in Victoria, British Columbia. At a young age, Mulholland learned that her adoptive mother was her biological mother; her biological father, Berne Hal-Mann, was an entertainer in Honolulu, Hawaii, and was a father to thirteen children. Her mother had five daughters, blessing Mulholland with 18 brothers and sisters.

At the age of fourteen, she moved out on her own and completed high school at Mount Douglas High in Saanich, British Columbia. She then moved to San Diego, California, where she attended The Design Institute of San Diego.

By 1996, Ann was a single mother of two young boys and was separated from her first husband. She raised her two boys on her own until she met her second husband. In 2002, she married Dr. Stephen Mulholland, who is a Plastic Surgeon and founder of InMode.

Entrepreneur

In the mid-1980s, with her MBA, MSc and ICD.d, Mulholland opened her first store in Vancouver, British Columbia. Kerr Interiors on Granville Street provided interior design items and services to commercial and residential clients. She continued her career as an interior designer after her first child was born.

In 1996, following a government decision to reduce elective surgery funding, she founded Medicard Finance. It was later named iFinance Canada [4], a parent company of six subsidiaries offering consumer financing through Canadian service providers. She was CEO of the company for 25 years.

Mulholland controls several commercial and residential real estate investments [5] in Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria, Hawaii, Las Vegas and England. In 2002, she founded the first consumer trade show for cosmetic enhancement called the New You Anti-Aging Cosmetic Enhancement Show [6], accompanied by New You Magazine [7].

Television

Mulholland began her television career in the early 2000s, she hosted Canadian television shows regarding cosmetic medical procedures and makeovers. She hosted the show "New You TV" that ran on the Global Network Station as well as "Beauty by Design", and "The Ultimate Makeover."

She also starred in the Canadian reality television series, The Real Housewives of Toronto [8] [9] and has made appearances in multiple documentary series including The Stats of Life, by the CBC Television network.

She is slated to star in Queen of the Castle, distributed internationally through Bell Media.

Author

Mulholland is the author of seven books: Fashion Cares [10], The INTERNet [11], Best Practices [12], If You Don't Laugh, You'll Cry [13], How to be Successful In Spite of Yourself [14], Eating with Purpose and her thesis “A Study of Consumer Default”.

Fashion Cares, a commemorative book that celebrated the 25th anniversary of the annual Fashion Cares event founded in 1987. It is a tribute to the fashion industry and its contribution to those affected by HIV/AIDS over the years. 100% of the proceeds benefit the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT) and The Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF).

Her two business advice books, The INTERNet and Best Practices, draw on experiences from cosmetic doctors and talk about managing and marketing a medical website, with recent industry and economic changes. Her fourth book, If You Don't Laugh, You'll Cry, is a humorous collection of illustrations on cosmetic enhancement treatment.

Philanthropy

Currently, Mulholland supports the Toronto Arts Foundation, Transforming Faces, and the Vancouver Art Gallery. She also contributes to her alma mater, the Rotman School of Management, Sick Children’s Hospital and other organizations through her various companies.

Education

Mulholland holds post-secondary degrees including a doctorate from Henley Business School at the University of Reading, an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto [15], an MSc from the Henley Business School at the University of Reading, and an ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. She is also a wedding officiant, licensed with Celebrating Life Ministries in Ontario [16].
